The application process
Apply
Fill out a profile on our tutor management software by clicking here. Applications will be reviewed when the profile is complete and your CV is uploaded. Should your application be successful; you will be invited to an assessment day.
Interview and Assessment
This is our chance to get to know you. We will sit down with you for 15-20 minutes and find out whether The Hampstead Academy is right for you. You will then partake in a mock tutoring session which will be assessed by one of our experienced tutors or qualified teachers. Do not worry if you have little to no tutoring experience; we are looking for potential above all else. You will be given details about the assessment 48 hours prior to it.
Qualification Check
As part of our vetting procedure, you will need to send us all your qualifications and certificates. These will need to be scanned in colour (front and back) and emailed to us. The Hampstead Academy will keep these on record for the length of time you are a tutor with us.
If you have not yet obtained your degree, we may need to contact your university should we have any reservations. We ask that you give us permission to contact the student records office to confirm your placement and to ensure your attainment and punctuality.
Reference Check
You will need to send us at least one reference. We do not specify the nature of this reference. Should you wish to provide more, then please aim to provide us with one from your education, one from a work placement and one from a teaching related field. We appreciate that this may not be possible hence only one reference is mandatory. We ask that you give us permission to contact your references to confirm they are true and accurate.

Security Check
To tutor with the Hamsptead Academy, you will need an Enhanced DBS Check (previously called Enhanced CRB check). This needs to be current. Other agencies may settle for the standard check however we hold ourselves to a higher standard; offering our clients the peace of mind they deserve. After all, you will be working with children in their homes.

Induction and training
Successful tutors will be invited to an induction day where they will meet The Hampstead Academy team and enjoy complementary food and drink. Comprehensive training is delivered to our tutors by qualified teachers and experienced tutors. You will take part in presentations and workshops as well as having access to premium education and teaching material. This training is free of charge to our tutors.
We continuously assess the ability of tutors through follow up workshops, client evaluations and lesson plan submissions.
