Claudia

I am a 4th year medical student with over 3 years tutoring experience. I believe that one to one tutoring benefits the student best if the tutor tailors their teaching around the student's individual needs.

I consistently scored 100% in my science GCSEs, and some science and maths papers at A-level. Exam technique is imperative, but so is having a love for your subjects and a thirst for learning. Therefore I ensure to deliver that to my students.

Outside of work and medicine, I have been a passionate horse rider since I was four. I also love to scuba dive and recently achieved the "master diver" qualification. Drama is also a hobby of mine; I achieved a grade 6 LAMDA exam in mime. I then went on to some casual television work.

I have over four years of tutoring and one year of professional teaching at Queen Elizabeth's Boys School, Barnet, I have developed an open and creative tutoring style that places independence and critical thought at the heart of learning.

I have a strong vision of tutoring as an avenue to expand children's innate abilities, rather than merely driving them towards a limited skillset for examinations.

My approach is underpinned by a strong academic foundation, honed by an undergraduate degree at Cambridge (Archaeology & Anthropology) and a passion for teaching spurred by my ongoing stint as a karate instructor.

After graduating with a 2:1 Law BA from Cambridge University, I am currently undertaking training as a barrister at BPP University.

Before moving to London, I worked as a self-employed tutor for nearly a year in the Warwickshire and Coventry area. I also have five years of experience of working with a charity teaching special needs children to swim.

I enjoy adapting my tutoring style to suit each student, improving their confidence in the curriculum material as well as encouraging them to tackle more challenging exercises. My penchant for personalising lessons has led to an expanding collection of worksheets of various difficulty levels, covering all aspects of the subject and providing a rounded learning experience.
